Innovation
As first educational project, B4C introduces a new and very dynamic practical learning area on carbon sequestration in Vocational Education. Biochar is one of the most dynamic research and development areas on CCE worldwide – and now it needs to be transferred in European Education sectors.
The partners unite in this project to making a significant contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions through biochar.
The B4C project is innovative since it will
- Interlink natural sciences and STEM with “biochar” as a practical, concrete and “living” lab and innovative learning field,
- Combine scientific knowledge and skills with state-of-the-art learning technology,
- Create an entrance to biochar and soil science in European VET institutions both for teachers and for the students,
- Provide joint learning opportunities on future (entrepreneurial) projects in which students from different regions in Europe work and learn together and
- Establish a growing open and cooperative learning and development space for teachers and learners on biochar and CCE.
- On operative level, B4C will re-assemble the results and products of the forerunner projects and create innovative approaches, instruments and tools in the new context of biochar for sustainable development. This makes it possible for the first time to plan and validate the development of the learners in VET in informal learning contexts (in concrete biochar projects in the construction and agricultural sector).
- For this purpose, it creates an innovative interactive online environment, which connects LEARNING with concrete DEVELOPMENT projects, hence achieving both a high attractiveness and feasibility for the users on different (educational and development) levels.
- Additionally, a new platform space will be integrated in the existing platforms, which functions as a development, valorisation and for projects developed within B4C.
